THANK YOU to our Harlow Foodbank supporters

News

December 2017

We would like to thank all of the local people, schools, companies, supermarkets and others who have supported us this year with both food and financial donations as your help has been such a blessing to us in supporting local people in crisis.

From August 2017 our foodbank referrals have increased by 44% and currently we now need over 6 tonne of donated food each month to meet the current need in Harlow and the surrounding area.  We are now feeding over 400 people each month with emergency food, with 40% of these being children.  This has been the busiest Christmas at the foodbank since we opened in 2009 and we estimate that this increase in need will continue into 2018.

Today (Friday 22nd December) we will be distributing fresh turkey portions to local people in crisis thanks to the support we receive each year from EAST END FARM in Roydon.  We will also be giving out Christmas hampers, food and toys, all donated locally.

We have also distributed over 100 emergency food boxes this Christmas to local front-line professional agencies to use with their clients in crisis over the festive period.

We would not be able to provide this valuable community service without the support of the local community so THANK YOU AGAIN as it is really appreciated.
