The vision for Harlow Foodbank is to encourage local churches, professional care agencies, businesses, supermarkets and individuals to work in partnership with MRCT to provide a foodbank for people in crisis in Harlow and the surrounding area.
Church Partnership Scheme
We would like to invite churches in Harlow and the surrounding area to become part of the “Harlow Foodbank Partnership Scheme” to ensure that JESUS name is embedded in and through the project. Harlow Foodbank is a Christian initiative which is coordinated by MRCT in association with local churches, professional care agencies, businesses, supermarkets and individuals.
Churches can be involved as little or a much as their current commitment allows as we are mindful that much valuable ministry work is already being undertaken in our area, through the churches, other Christian initiatives and by local Christians.
As Christians we have a great opportunity here to practically demonstrate our FAITH IN ACTION, UNITY and COMMITMENT with the Harlow Foodbank project as we support people in crisis in Harlow and in the surrounding area.
Churches can partner with Harlow Foodbank in the following ways –
- Coordinating a church supermarket collection day
- Providing volunteers for the foodbank
- Using our Churches Study Guide to reflect on our faith-based mission
- Financially supporting the work and the ongoing expenses
- Providing regular prayer support
