HARLOW FOODBANK APPEAL FOR HELP

News

May 2018

Due to the increased level of foodbank referrals we are currently experiencing (over 4,000 annually) and the current upstairs location of our foodbank satellite centre at St Paul’s Church in Harlow Town Centre our staff and volunteers have been under enormous pressure lifting and carrying large amounts of food boxes and fresh food up and down the stairs each week which cannot be maintained.  These boxes are very heavy, and it is putting a major strain on our teams to maintain.

We now have agreement from St Paul’s Church that we can move the foodbank satellite centre to the back of the church in early June 2018 (downstairs location) which will eliminate the need to carry boxes up and down the stairs by transporting them direct from the bell tower into the church all on one level.

For us to achieve this objective Harlow Foodbank will need to purchase additional equipment to operate effectively, and within health and safety guidelines, so we are asking our supporters for HELP IN RAISING THE MONEY WE NEED TO MOVE OUR SATELLITE CENTRE as soon as we can. Listed below is the equipment we will need to purchase before we can consider moving so we would ask that you please consider making a donation which would be greatly appreciated and valued.

WE NEED THE FOLLOWING EQUIPMENT:

1. Mobile Sink Unit = £820.00
2. Screen Dividers x 2 = £706.00
3. Folding Tables x 4 = £603.00
4. Safety Cones x 2 = £14.00
5. Stacking Chairs x 10 = 650.00
6. Fan for current fridge = £40.00

TOTAL MONEY NEEDED = £2,833

Donations can be made online at www.mrct.org.uk by clicking the JUST GIVING button at the bottom of the homepage and follow the online instructions.
