This financial year has brought some of the biggest challenges across all of our services since the Michael Roberts Charitable Trust (MRCT) was established in 1997.

The introduction of Universal Credits has resulted in substantial increases in foodbank referrals, the significant rise in the number of people who are street homeless and vulnerably housed and the number of children now being supported by low income families in crisis. These increases have certainly been challenging and have put our staff and volunteer teams at full capacity; for this they must be commended, as they continue to maintain and support local people in need… [more]

Foodbank Summer 2019 Newsletter

Record numbers use the foodbank... Harlow Foodbank has seen record numbers of referrals at our satellite centres in 2018/19 which has far exceeded expectations. This has increased the demand on donated food supplies and on our teams of staff/volunteers at our Store House and two foodbank satellite centres.

Bounty Club Summer 2019 Newsletter

Too good to waste? Recycle... We have been delighted at the progress of the work of the Bounty Club during 2018/19 when Trevor Stanesby our coordinator and main driver has further developed the service to front-line professional agencies, homeless projects, children’s centres, drop in centres, school breakfast clubs, charities and other vital community resources all for the benefit of the local community.

Warehouse Food Status Update
August – October 2019

The following are a list of items, in order of urgencythat are running low in the warehouse. Items marked in RED are at critical levels

Our urgent needs are…

  • Juice (long life)
  • Tinned Vegetables
  • Tins Solid Meat (ham, spam etc.)
  • Tinned Tomatoes
  • Tinned Fruit
  • Coffee
  • Hot Chocolate
  • Sugar (1kg bags)
  • Biscuits
  • Tea – (Max Size 240 bags pls.)

We also need…

  • Toilet Rolls
  • Rice Pudding
  • Sponge Pudding

It is important that the dates on all these items are as long as possible so, although it takes an extra second or two, it really helps us if you can check the dates.
