On Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd February 2016 a team of foodbank staff, volunteers and supporters helped us to move our main warehouse operation from LOKnSTORE in Edinburgh Way, Harlow to a larger warehouse at Housham Hall Farm, which is just a short distance from Harlow.
We would like to thank everyone who helped over the two days as we were able to empty LOKnSTORE of its shelving on the Monday, and erect it at the new site. On Tuesday we moved over 20 pallets of food to the new site from LOKnSTORE, and by the end of the day much of it had been sorted and placed on the shelving at the new warehouse. This new warehouse will provide the foodbank with 5,000 square feet of storage space, and will enable it to bring all of its food donations/operation into one place over the coming months, which will help with stock control and distribution.
Special thanks must go to the following companies for providing the transport and fork lifts during the day:
- Lawsons (Whetstones) Ltd – Provided a lorry on Monday with two staff
- Goldstar Removals Ltd – Provided a lorry on Tuesday with one staff member
- Arbtechnic – Provided a van on Monday with one staff member
- LOKnSTORE – Providing a fork lift to load food pallets onto lorry
- Bag It Plastics – Provided a fork lift at the new site
We would also like to thank LOKnSTORE who have been a faithful partner to the foodbank since it was established in Harlow in April 2009, in providing warehouse space on the ground floor and an archive unit on the second floor. LOKnSTORE will continue to work alongside the foodbank by providing a drop-off point for small food donations in the future, for which we are very appreciative and grateful.
All larger food donations MUST BE DELIVERED DIRECTLY to the new warehouse below.
