Essex Boys & Girls Clubs came to help

August 2015

Wonderful day on Tuesday 18th August when a group of young people from the Essex Boys & Girls Clubs came to help us at the foodbank warehouse.

We had a group of 17 youngsters between the ages of 17–19 came along with their team leader and processed about 4.5 tonnes of donations.  They started at 10:00 am had an hours break for lunch and finished at 3:00pm.

The group leader commented that youngsters had responded very well to the experience and that it had been a good opportunity to encourage them to think about their community.   The feedback from the youngsters was that it was very interesting, they had enjoyed themselves and that it had got them thinking about other avenues of volunteering and helping in the community.

Plenty of food sorting was undertaken, which really did help us and was appreciated.
